APS UAR (Urban Assault Rifle) AEG

The APS UAR (Urban Assault Rifle) is a bullpup AEG. It is constructed of polymer, making the gun very lightweight and maneuverable. It is a gun specifically designed for CQB (Close Quarters Battle.) The UAR has a very unique bullpup design, and was designed with airsoft  functionality in mind. As the UAR is not modeled after any real- steal firearm, APS had the freedom to disregard the UAR's practical use as a firearm, and focus on its use as an airsoft gun.

More on the UAR after the jump!

The UAR features three magazine releases, two ambidextrous releases above the trigger, and one at the rear of the gun in front of the magazine. Reloading is efficient and quick with this gun, and regardless of the shooter's position holding the gun, a magazine release is nearby. The charging handle locks back for access to the hop-up, and can be released by a button on the cheek rest. The hop-up in the UAR is a sliding hop-up, similar to that seen in AK- style AEG's. The charging handle has a quick-detach feature that allows the user to switch it to either side of the gun.

The UAR comes with two 150 round high capacity magazines, which look a little bit different from the short 75 round P-MAG magazines by Magpul PTS. However, the UAR does not always feed mid-capacity magazines well. The best magazines to use with the UAR are high-capacity magazines and flash mags.

The battery in the UAR is stored in the upper receiver, about a half inch under the rail. Between the rail and the battery will lie the fuse box, so users inserting the battery into the UAR should be aware of the space restrictions, and install the battery with care. We recommend using a 9.6v stick type battery.

We found that the UAR is most comfortable with a stubby foregrip, and Firefield compact red dot sight. These accessories made the UAR a bit more maneuverable, while retaining the gun's overall compact size. They look fantastic on both the Black and Dark Earth UAR models.
