Elite Force SL9

The Elite Force SL9 is a DMR built to impress. Here at HSA, we have been extremely impressed with this AEG, and can't wait to see how it performs in the field.

Read all about the SL9 after the jump!

The Elite Force SL9 is a new automatic electric gun specifically designed for long range engagements. Out of the box, the SL9 is shooting 430-440 fps, guaranteeing a solid amount of power behind each shot. With a weighted BB, we have no doubt that this gun will be able to pick off targets hundreds of feet away.

The body of the SL9 is rock solid. Unlike many SL9's before it, the Elite Force model retains its stability across the entire length of the gun, making sure to distribute the weight of accessories and optics away from the inner barrel, and rather put that stress into reinforced metal pins. The body of the SL9 feels fantastic. The grip of this gun stands out from other SL9's in that it is slightly thinner, and much more ergonomic. Instead of the shooter feeling as if they were grabbing a thick chunk of bulky stock, they experience the feeling of a pistol grip. The SL9 is a fairly large gun. This would typically only allow a larger person to be able to handle the weapon, but the SL9 features a polymer body (as is found on all quality G36 guns) making the gun lighter than may be expected.

Elite Force went the extra mile to make sure H&K trademarks were on the SL9, including HK logo, metal stamped serial number, and accurate SL9 model and 5.56 ammunition engravings. The attention to detail that went into this gun is impressive, and would be a replica gun that would make H&K proud.

The Elite Force SL9 comes with a short G36 magazine, which holds 35BB's. Keeping the magazine a mid-cap ensures quieter operation, an important aspect for a sniper. Additionally, it keeps the profile of the gun smaller, and sleeker. The SL9 can accept standard G36 mid-capacity and high capacity magazines, but we love the look of the 35 round short magazine.

Included with each SL9 is a spring activated bipod and mock suppressor, as well as extra adjustable cheek risers. The inner barrel runs through the length of the mock suppressor, increasing the gun's long range accuracy. These included accessories are also a huge buying point for the Elite Force SL9, as accessories would usually need to be found and bought separately, and let's be real, this gun isn't complete without a suppressor or bipod.

We would recommend Elite Force .28g BIO BB's, or .32 MILSIM MAX Bio BB's for use with the SL9.With an out-of-the-box fps of over 400, the SL9 can handle the added weight of these BB's. Additionally, their weight will add to the gun's long range accuracy, and they will have the quality feeding that has come to be expected with Elite Force BB's.

JESSE'S OPINION CORNER!

As a sniper, I debated for a long time between a bolt action, M4 platform or SL9 platform to use for a DMR (Designated Marksman's Rifle.) I chose to go with an M4 DMR, really because there were few quality SL9's on the market, even though I preferred the look of the SL9. Using a semi-automatic sniper increases my rate of fire, and increases my chances of hitting a moving target. The SL9 has the ability to shoot both semi and fully automatic, making it a dangerous barrel to be seeing across the field (or not seeing, as it is a sniper.) The SL9 is rock solid, and I believe it would perform beautifully as a long range rifle. The Elite Force SL9 has definitely been added to the list of guns I hope to own and use.
